Walt Disney is going to buy Marvel for the bargain price of 4 billion dollars!

Disney will acquire ownership of more than 5,000 Marvel characters, including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Thor.

My bid of unlimited pie for 10 years, drinks and tacos at my house at the date of your choosing, $100 cash and a high-five came in a close second. It was close… congratulations Disney- you were a good competitor.

Working on Iron Man 2 has been such an amazing experience. Everyone I’ve worked with including Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau have been more than incredible. I can’t talk about the plot or my role per contracts with Marvel. But, I can tell you that the energy on the set is unbelievably creative, supportive and fun. For as hyped up as this film is, you’d think it would be super tense and stressful. But, it’s the exact opposite. Everyone involved working on the film is always high energy and excited to be on set.

Terrance Howard gave an interview to Parade saying Marvel’s decision to not bring him back for Iron Man 2 was a “very, very bad choice.” Here’s what he said:

What really happened in the casting of Iron Man 2. 
“Marvel made a choice, and it was a very, very bad choice. They didn’t keep their word. They didn’t honor my contract. They produced a great bounty with the first one but they put it all in the storehouse and you were not allowed in. They did the same thing with Gwyneth Paltrow, from what I’ve been told. They did it with almost everyone except Robert Downey [Jr.]. One of the things that actors need to learn to do is always stick together, one for all and all for one.”

“I’ve seen the script, I know what’s going to happen, but I’m not revealing anything. I believe in karma. When someone does something wrong, you don’t have to get them back. Everything right will return the favor for you. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the movie. I want to see Don Cheadle become me. No, I want him to do better than me. That’s what I really want to see. Don Cheadle was the reason I got Crash, so I have a lot of love for him.”

It was rumored that Sam Jackson was so insulted by the offer he got to play Fury in Iron Man 2, that he said he would never, ever do the movie.
Well, I guess money heals all wounds. Because now he is officially on board. But, Marvel Entertainment made sure their asses were covered and made a long-term deal with Jackson.
His deal has an option for Marvel to put Jackson in nine future Marvel movies as Nick Fury, the leader of the espionage unit the Shield. Some of those movies he’s expected to be in are: Captain America, Thor, The Avengers and The Shield.

Mickey Rourke was supposed to play the villain in Iron Man 2, but that’s not gonna happen… at least for now.

New York Magazine:  ”Right now, we’re not doing Iron Man 2.“

Apparently they’re offering Rourke $250,000 to be in the movie, but his agents are saying that’s not enough for a man who’s probably going to win an Oscar on Sunday night.

Rourke did say “right now” so maybe that means it’s not dead.
