Walt Disney is going to buy Marvel for the bargain price of 4 billion dollars!
Disney will acquire ownership of more than 5,000 Marvel characters, including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Thor.
My bid of unlimited pie for 10 years, drinks and tacos at my house at the date of your choosing, $100 cash and a high-five came in a close second. It was close… congratulations Disney- you were a good competitor.

Maybe not.!!!!….i am a MARVEL and DC fanatics since i was a child,,,i know stan lee will never do it,,,coz now is a new begining for all comic lovers out there… who always love to read great heroes with superpowers,, i dont believe it…n now they are seen in movies n making good publicity…i really dont think so……

He’s really operated like the Great Oz behind the scenes, not accessible to the public but always mindful of shareholders. This was always an acquisition play for Ike,” one insider explains to me. “The bottom line is he turned the whole thing around after he fought tooth and nail with Ron Perelman for the company. Today he runs a nifty company that’s tidy on expenses and has no cash flow issues. This deal with Disney just ups his game and creates shareholder value and lets him walk away a billionaire.”

Will mean nothing that Disney owns Marvel, it is another umbrella for Disney.
I mean Disney own and run Miramax Films amongst others and it has not stopped films like No Country for Old Men, Clerks 2, the Kill Bill films and etc coming out, Touchstone Pictures is another of there’s and they still put out things like Apocalypto, TV Shows like Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, then Disney owns ABC and ESPN as well … and is a 27% owner of Hulu.
So Disney buying Marvel is no big deal in the scheme of things … they will not change much it is more likely a portfolio purchase.
Weren’t Donald Duck and Mickey mouse in No Country For Old Men?
Might mean something for Universal which features characters licensed from Marvel in there Theme Park (especially the Marvel Area in Florida) … depending on the lease time left might leave a big hole for Universal.

Just 4 billion dollars? Oh, man, I *just* had a spare 4 billion burning a hole in my pocket, like, 12 days ago! I opted to have a secret lair built in a dormant volcano on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. DAMN, it’s all about the timing, right?

I doubt this will mean anything negative for Marvel. They’ll still release comics, films, and other merchandise at their own discretion. This is just another cash cow for Disney and Marvel is guaranteed to stay afloat.
