Man kills himself while watching “Watchmen”
A 24-year-old Oregon man was at a cinema watching Watchmen, sitting in the back of the theater, when he took out a gun and committed suicide.
About halfway through the movie, people in the theater reported hearing a popping sound. He was found dead by the time rescue workers arrived.
The closest person sitting near him was 2 rows away.
Oh- and only 10 people were in the theater watching the Watchmen- man, that movie really fell off, huh?
Oh, yeah, too bad for the guy who killed himself. That sucks.

Well, it is Oregon, which could help explain both only 10 people watching the movie *and* the suicide. I mean, have you been to Oregon?

Watchmen didn’t live up to my expectations, but it wasn’t that bad.
They didn’t even help the guy, like the people two rows away should have noticed him. People now a day don’t really help anyone that could be on the street and having a heart attack, just walk by. That’s really sad for the guy prayers go out to his family.

you know he may have been having suicidal thoughts and thought “you know maybe if I go see the Watchmen I may feel better”, then he watched and watched and cocked his gun and pulled the trigger……and that my friends is the worst movie review ever.
Surprised that none of the news articles mention exactly when he did it. It sounds like it was planned, so he might have meant something by the timing. What happens “about halfway through?” The Dr. Manhattan origin flashbacks? Moloch talking about cancer?
What lengths will Hollywood go to do “PR”…I would rather do the Batman search for clues by telephone….;0(

Are you sure it was suicide? His head could have just exploded trying to figure out the convoluted plot of the movie. Sorry, I should not joke about suicide. This is actually very tragic.

That is F-ed up. I mean if your going to kill yourself don’t make a spectical of it. I am sure it wasn’t the movie that brought it on. I mean I know it wasn’t great but it definitely was not the worst movie I have ever seen. There is for example Twilight.

I loved the movie but w.e. damn why you spend money on a movie ticket then watch half the movie just to do that? Makes you think if he planned to do that or it just happened in that moment?
He should have seen I Love You, Man or Fast and Furious instead.

I’ve been personally affected by suicide, so I hope the kid’s family is doing ok with all the grief they must be feeling.
Damn I guess it’s a dark movie to go out on, and any press is good press huh? They rly need it too, this movie def fell off. Haven’t heard anything bout it rly since I saw it on opening wknd. Anyway suicide is just not the way to go out and I can’t say more about it cuz I think it’s so cheap usually.
