June 8- Bingathon- Be there!
I recently told you Microsoft announced their new search engine with the code name Kumo.
The code name is no longer and the actual name of the site is Bing! And I can exclusively tell you that I had a chance to play around on Bing last night and it was pretty sick.. seriously. For example- you know when you Google something and everything comes up and then you have to go through it all deciphering if it’s really what you want? On, Bing, they only search from the most reliable sources leaving you with a search page of only the stuff you would really want.
And the actually page, looks really pretty.
This could be your new Google. Seriously. It’s that cool. You can actually go to Bing now and there are videos explaining the site.
But the best part? The Bingathon! Make sure to go to Hulu on June 8 all day long. I’m going to be hosting a very, ummm…crazy telethon comedy skit with Jason Sudeikis (plays Joe Biden on SNL). We’re going to be on all day making fools of ourselves and it’s gonna be awesome!!!

Being a fan of a certain singer from a long while back - I will never be able to read a sentence about that site, or even go to that site - without laughing at it. But, if the site works well, the name will make me love it even more.
Anyone who has a banner that fantastic deserves a listen to. Count me in darlin. Bing away!
Bing is the next google.. I love the shopping and Travel features on Bing. Also, the cashback offers….
so instead of saying “google it” ur gonna say “bing it?” sounds pretty retarded. lol.
I just do not see it beating out Google anytime soon. Name alone will keep Google ahead for a while, IMHO.

Often times Microsoft does not develop anything that is actually useful but “acquires” them from promising sources. That is what happens when you are rich and powerful, you don’t have to work, you can collect.

Ill give it a try, it will have its work cut out for it if its going to take down Google though. Cant wait to see the skits with you and Sudeikas. Maybe we will get to see you on SNL in the future.
Interesting… I look forward to trying it out (bad name though). But the thing that made Google successful in the first place was when it started it only returned the most appropriate stuff. Over time, people figured out how to get into the results. Same would happen if Bing took off- over time, there will always be spam to chew through to get to the real meat of the internet.

If it works I’ll use it. I really don’t care who manufactures it, codes it or paints it. Brand is a gimmick used to sell advertising and bump up the price.

Pretty cool, seems like it should work well, since you know there’s 10’s of thousands of sites that come up when you put ‘Porn’ in the damn search box. Might make sifting through the spyware easier. But I wish I could sit down on Hulu all day on the 8th…But of course, I can’t. Boo, that just means I suck and am poor and deprived.

Seriously, if the engine is that good, I’ll use it. I have no loyalty to name brand in the online tools I use, I just use whatever works best for me. And I’ll assume that your glowing praise of Bing! has naught to do with the fact that you’ve got a gig coming up for them.
Oh, and way to score the gig, btw. Sudeikis is a really funny and talented guy. Your stock is totally rising. Yay!
