January Cover of Maxim
I’m not supposed to put out any pictures or the cover or video until the “big reveal” BUT since I’m seeing the JANUARY COVER OF MAXIM with yours truly on it leaked online already, I wanted to post for you guys, too…
Photographer Miko Lim was amazing and so much fun to work with.. It was the most fun and the most comfortable I’ve ever felt on any shoot.
It comes out this week and there will be behind the scenes footage on G4 and online… I hope you guys like it! There are 8 pictures in the mag.. Here’s the cover and one of the inside shots.. I’ll put the rest up when I get the okay.
Oh, and YES, let me go ahead and address this now so I don’t have to again…
YES, that’s my ass. YES, I did a cover shoot and spread for Maxim Magazine. So YES I was in revealing outfits. But NO. NO, that doesn’t make me, or any other girl who takes provocative pictures, a whore or slut or anything else that some pathetic loser, who just sits behind the comfort of a computer screen judging, feels like saying. I wore what I felt comfortable in. I’m comfortable in my own skin. I’m comfortable with my sexuality.
And if you have any problems with me in this spread, I have two things to say to you: 1. Just don’t look. And 2. You sound like you just need a good fuck.
I know I’m coming off defensive, but I’m just thinking ahead to the inevitable comments from what I’m finding are a lot of girls who are just being haters because someone stole their Trapper Keeper or some shit.
I’m surprised at the amount of negative energy other women give each other. It’s one thing to joke and push the limits if it’s for humor and it’s not malicious. It’s another thing to be mean to someone in hopes it hurts their feelings and in turn, makes you feel better.
I think it’s important as a woman to stand up and say this. I’ll take the negativity and fight back, if it paves the way for other girls (like my little 2-year-old niece) to not have to deal with it when they grow up. Support each other. Be your own best person instead of trying to break other people down so you don’t feel less than. Life’s too short.
Okay, so now that I’ve addressed it, I’m just moving on to be happy about the cover and spread, and hope all of you love it!!

I don’t think taking pictures like these are slutty, I think taking pictures like these are sad. Your body is a temple to share freely with your husband, if you share it with the world, once you’re married, what’s so special about your body? What are you really giving your husband that someone hasn’t already had a bite of? Nothing, there is nothing special about your body, it loses it’s value the more you continue to display it out like happy meal. Anyone can have a banging body.

I think that is what makes you more attractive and more of a likeable person to watch on continuous basis. I do not know you, so my comment is not intended as a personal judgment, and it is definitely not meant to be hurtful. I admit to finding these photographs amusing, but they provoke a somewhat predatory aspect of appreciation as opposed to an aesthetic or admirable one. Maybe this is what you are looking for? If so, far be it from me to suggest you shouldn’t want to be wanted in this way. But I wonder if you can appreciate an alternative perspective (one I hope you don’t find condescending):
You are an attractive person and obviously comfortable with your sexuality, but I think there is a dislocation and dishonesty involved in these kind of pictures which does degrade (if not yourself, than any healthy social idea of femininity) and can create a kind of tension-oriented lust which is closer to rape than it is to love. Am I being too negative in suggesting that maybe these photographs do you a disservice rather than enhance your being? I am not trying to teach you a lesson or save your soul or any such nonsense, I just felt the desire to express a differing opinion and perspective to another human being. This photo shoot isn’t doing her a disservice. We fans loved Olivia even before we saw her in a bikini. Her rockin’ a bikini comfortably shows her CONFIDENCE and is a respectable trait of her femininity. Fans wouldn’t love her less if she didn’t rock a bikini.

I’m a long time Maxim subscriber and I have to be honest, I’ve never heard of Olivia Munn before the issue arrived recently. After reading the article and seeing the pictures, I can’t say I wasn’t amazed. Olivia is absolutely beautiful and is doing what anyone else would do if they looked anything like her. She has a smile that can warm your heart, eyes that lighten your mood, and a body carved by an artist. Don’t worry about the haters, they will always find something to rant about in order to conceal their hatred for themselves. I can see why the photos are used because they are to reach the horny demographic of men who watch your show. Yet, for some reason, it does “cheapen” the other talents you have besides your beauty. Does a smart and intelligent woman have to be overtly sexual to gain approval? Can you be both? In any case, these Maxim photos seem to be altered considerably. In fact, it looks like your head has been photo-shopped on another models body. There is a fine line between sexy and skanky and these photos have crossed the boundary.

There are other ways to be sexual beside getting naked in front of the world. When you do it as often as you do, makes you seem like you are not confrontable at all. Like you need approval, or are insecure. And if you cannot take people calling you names or judging, stop doing it. Problem solved. As often as you get half naked in photos, you should be used to it. I dont think someones own sexuality is something that needs to be shared with so many people, If you are comfortable with yours, great! Nice to know. If you always take most of your clothes off and get in sexual poses, prepared to be judge accordingly. When i see munn half naked, I just yawn. Seen it too many times. zzzzzz. Just have to say I recieved a copy of Maxim today and was blown away! At first I am thinking, WTF is on the front cover, but an advertisment! Then I flip the page and too my surprise (a great one) I see you Olivia and was speechless, Not only do i enjoy Attack of the Show, but you (in a completely non stocker fan sorta way). Maxum made a great decision putting you on the cover, you look freaking terrific,amazing, gorgeous, and stunning. Well played Maxum, well played. I agree with you that women should not be so negative towards other women, but I also think it goes beyond that. No human should make fun of another human being at all. The reason you probably get women calling you names is because they’ve been called names like “ugly” and “fat” by other people before. Therefore, when they see someone who is beautiful and fit like you, they are reminded of those who attacked them. That is my view on it.
By the way, you are not a whore or slut for this shoot. I think that is ridiculous. People go to the beach all the time in their bikinis or swimming trunks and they don’t get negativity for it, but if they end up in a successful magazine like Maxim or Playboy then it’s automatically “slut” and “whore”. I don’t think it’s fair at all to you or any of the girls who work hard in these photoshoots only to be attacked for it.

A comparison is defined as an act of finding similarity between two or more things. So, by comparison, you can see that what Olivia is wearing and what girls wear on the beach are similar. Am I right?
Therefore, my comparison is not “dumb”, as kindly stated by yourself. Are there differences? Yes. Most things that have similarities also have differences. For example, the difference you stated in your reply. However, that difference does not mean that Olivia’s photos and the bikini-clad beach goers have nothing in common or, as you said “?????NO big difference.”
With that said, I really don’t think a pose makes a difference in the matter. The reason for Olivia’s negative feedback is the amount of skin she is exposing, as she mentioned in the first paragraph of her blog:

I’ve seen Olivia do provocative things on AOTS. Actually, there was one segment with these masks where she and Kevin do some sexual poses and things. And, in the video comments I read, no one complains about Olivia being a slut or a whore. I believe that is because Olivia was wearing a T-shirt and jeans in that segment.
I don’t think posing sexually is the core reason of the hatred she is receiving. It is a possible reason but not the biggest one. It is the fact that she is exposing so much skin.
