Gunman opens fire at Holocaust Museum
An elderly man opened fired at at Holocaust Museum fatally shooting a security guard before he was shot by police multiple times.
James Von Brunn is an 88-year-old white supremacist is being investigated in the shooting and his car was found near the museum. He has a history of hate for Jews. He has a racist, anti-Semitic Web site and wrote a book titled Kill the Best Gentiles.
In 1983, he was convicted of attempting to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve Board and served more than six years in prison. He was arrested two years earlier outside the room where the board was meeting, carrying a revolver, knife and sawed-off shotgun.
He was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.

Despite the fact that, inasmuch as I believe people have the right to be left alone, I also believe they have the right to their beliefs. Yes, that means the old bigot fucktard has the right to be a bigoted fucktard. It’s the hardest pill to swallow in a society that prizes personal freedoms.
What I don’t understand, though, is having a hatred so deep for an entire group of people (defined by skin color or ideology) that you would go on a shooting rampage like that guy did. An individual? Maybe you could have such a hatred for, if they did something terrible to you and/or yours. But to a group? I just can’t put myself in his mindset. I can’t see the motivation.
I hope he rots in prison for years. A quick death isn’t befitting the heinousness of his crime.

At the risk of sounding like the odd one out, I don’t hope that he dies. I do hope that he lives to get the full extent of the law as far as restitution allows. Although I’m not an American, even in Trinidad and Tobago where I live, we view these incidents with shock and sorrow. My condolences to the murdered guard’s family.

Dying in the hospital would’ve been decent, but I’d prefer to think that dying alone in a secure prison cell (since he’s all old and shit) would be much more lonely and tortuous death sentence. Which is what that fucker deserves.
