My grandma bought an iPod summer of 08. When she attempted to download iTunes, she was unable to. She called up Apple and spoke with them about it. Turns out it was a problem with Windows Vista. The tech guy spent an hour with her one the phone and fixed her $1,500 Windows run laptop so it could use her iPod.
Fast forward to this past summer. My mom bought an HP printer to use with her HP laptop. She attempted to set it up wirelessly and eventually hard wired after wireless failed. She contacted HP and found out that the software that came with the printer was faulty, and they would not help her because the one year warranty had run out. She bought the printer 3 weeks before calling them. After they jerked her around for over a month, dispite the fact that she sent in proof of her purchase date, they then spent 6 hours on the phone, on several different occasions and got nowhere. She then called Microsoft and they refused to help because it wasn't their problem. Enter me. I bring my MacBook over and call up Apple. After a half hour, no jerking around, I had the printer hooked up wirelessly with my laptop, dispite broken software. And with using the Apple tech guys instructions, we were able to get the HP laptop connected as well.
In conclusion, as if I didn't have enough reasons already, I will never buy a Microsoft piece of shit product again. And now, neither will any of my family members.
I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.
