I'm ready to upgrade to Microsoft Windows 7. But, what am I hearing that there's no point because everything is going to be changed to vista? Is that true? Should I just upgrade anyway?

What's getting changed to Vista?
ive never had a problem with vista like some people, but ive heard windows 7 is pretty damn good.
Windows =
save for XP and even that has so many fucking bugs and backdoors it's not funny.
Ubuntu and Snow Leopard FTW!!!!
Vista is coming back? Vista is the pits. Win 7 is supposed to be much better. Vista, don't come back, shooo!!
Upgrade to 7. Overall, it's a much better operating system. Just be sure you have the necessary drivers to make the transition as smooth as possible.
ive heard switching from xp to 7 is a nightmare.
@VAjaymie Windows 7 is a new OS it has been reviewed by Cnet and the rest of the tech spots and its gotten amazing reviews. Windows 7 is a game changer for microsoft and its most important that they got it right. The stank of Vista is a stain on the company because most windows users did not leave XP because Vista smelled bad and that hurt new PC sells also. But with the arrival of Windows 7 we in the tech world expect new PC sells to rise . I'm upgrading to Windows 7 myself and I'm one of those people that didn't touch Vista it smelled like old clothes and collard greens lol.
Windows 7 is pretty badass. Love it!
Im wondering if Window7 is more gamer friendly then Vista with older game.Vista slammed the door on being able to play alot of games that was made for Xp.I ran two computers, one with Xp and one with Vista just to play my games. I really dought Windows 7 fixed that but if it did..... Im completely on board.
Sammy it's true I've heard if you want Shitdows 7 and you have XP that it's actually better just to buy a new machine. While Shitdows 7 is better than vista (not hard) it's not enough to make me get it.
Normally I would say/quote "Never change a running system"...but I'm looking forward to Windows 7.
First off, all your Apple fanboys, SHUT THE FUCK UP, he did not ask "Should I get Windows 7 or OS X?". He asked if he should get Windows 7 or not. I am using Windows 7 right now. I have not had time to tweak it or run benchmarks like I did with Vista but right off the bat you can tell MS has taken the good of both XP and Vista and clumped them together. The results is a slim, user friendly OS. Yes, the upgrade process, what I did, takes a few hours, but it was worth it. If you do have XP and want to go to 7 then you have to do a clean install, but you should always do that when you change OS's and you just back up. Partition your drive if you don't have another one. Vista wasn't a bad OS, it just didn't run well on shitty computers.
I never hated Vista as much as most people. I think it got a bad rap because manufactures were running it on systems that could not handle it.
That being said, I've been using 7 for about 3 months now and it is simply amazing. It combines the look and feel of Vista with the stability of XP, only better (if that makes any sense).
Upgrading to 7 is a must for any PC user.
For the $30 I paid, it was definitely worth it.
It's not what you've got, it's what you do with it... Too many years watching supposed IT people installing/tweaking/faffing about with OS's only to be left behind by people who just build companies that do stuff with the thing that works at the time.
Windows 7 / XP / Vista / OS X / Whatever... It's what you've actually done with it.
@TH3 H4NMGAMN Take you're fucking pills man and relax. They're called opinions and everyone has them so get used to it sparky.
@TrojanMayhem (Minja) I only flipped out like that since this thread doesn't need to be diluted by Apple fanboys when there is clearly no mention of getting a Mac in the original post.
Yeah I know what you mean man. I mentioned linux and apple's OS but only because when talking about different types of OS's it bears mentioning the other options out there and whether we like it or not like minded products are always compared against each other.
I do know what you mean though it can be frustrating if you think someone is just trying to talk shit. And maybe people could articulate themselves in a better manner but such is the way of the internet. I have a laptop setup with a dual boot xp/ubuntu for some things I like XP but for me I would rather have something a bit less susceptible to viruses. The fact is most viruses are designed to attack windows because that's what the majority of the people use.
I use to HATE macs big time refused to use them. In fact when windows came out I hated it because it was a copy of the macs. I knew dos backwards and forwards but like everything else I got used to it. Well when I first used a mac I realized why there are so many fanboys.
Anyway my point is I know why it can be frustrating but you must realize comparisons are a way of evaluation.
/end long winded retort
Also threads never stay on topic
@TrojanMayhem (Minja) I know. The bane of my forum existence.
Mac+Bootcamp+Windows= Problem Solved.
Windows 7 or Megan Fox?
Bacon.
I just saw a Windows 7 commercial where Kevin and Olivia were dating.
Was he binging the bing out of her?
