I just saw an intervew with someone who did this, and I think we either all know someone who does this, or seen celebrities do it. I personally hate it. So egotistical. Superdouchey. I used to be a recruiter for a stafffing firm and had ppl do this all the time when they weve being interviewed.

It really depends, 3rd person omniscient is annoying, though I feel 3rd person limited gets me more inside the character...
