Absolutely agree, and also why I QUIT playing. Football isn't so bad, but I was obsessed with it and fantasy baseball for a few years.
Baseball's every day for 7 months. I'd be clicking 'refresh' at 2am in the morning just to find out if my batter got a walk in the Padres-Diamondback game which I'd normally care less about.
It all came to a boil when one of my players got hit by a pitch when batting, and had to be removed from the game. He was replaced by a pinch runner who scored, but since it wasn't my player who scored my team didn't get credit for the run. I actually punched a wall when I found out, and decided maybe it was time to step away from the fantasy leagues before I reached for sharp, shiny objects.
So yeah, you'll start caring about players/teams that you never gave a crap about before, but just don't let anger seep in. That leads to hate, then suffering... we all know it ends with some shitty prequels.
Unless of course that whole Olivia/Alison trophy thing is true. In which case trade your ass off, watch every game, and punching a few walls is perfectly justified.
