@awalker. Im guessing thats it. I just cant imagine olivia having her own magazine. way too much time and money spent. it also sounds the easiest and actually possible. I guess ill just find out if its true later.
@daniel81 Nah your probably right. Especially since she said it will be out soon. Making her own mag would take a lot of time and since she taking the pic this weekend it would make since that they have all ready started the process with the other celebrites.
I kind of thought the whole idea seemed a bit insane, but then again, I figured if anyone could make it work, it would be her.
A single issue makes a lot more sense, but now I'll be sad if there aren't more. I was ready to subscribe, and already had a place picked out for my football phone as well.
nice find daniel who's not me. i feel better about it now that it appears to be a one shot.
@daniel lol. when i signed up I chose this username, then i found out that there was another daniel around these forums. Oh well.
Yeah, wouldnt it be great to have a whole stack of magazines all about olivia? But were just stuck with this awesome website which i find better than magazines.
Good find other daniel..
Looking at that purely from a business stand point as a publisher, that is actually a pretty good marketing stragedy. You continue to develop your medium, but target celebs that are going to move the mag, if it flops one month, you get a bigger celeb the next.
The then broaches the oppertunity to revist the magazine and the celeb at later dates for further installments. You could even give the mag its own name on the mymag banner
Also think about how much time is put into making a magazine. Olivia downloads a lot of the blog content herself for the site, can you imagine the staff she would need to make even a quarterly magazine or the time involved in that. Something I was thinking about.
Very exciting, hope it does well!
Although agree with Krantus, it's likely to be a Mark Ecko / Complex thing, so I don't want too many silly people in their late 20's / early 30's wearing baseball caps at jaunty angles still trying to look like skateboarders...
Can Kevin have a film review section? I'd pay for that!
@ninjasquirrel I'm afraid if KP did a film review he might try to extol the glory of "Toys" again.
@AA Sorry, Munn's are only available in the continental U.S.
@brisco Still no global distribution of mail-order-munns?
@AA - finally got ODST! (not something she'd put in the magazine...)
from what daniel81 said and when you do click properties on the pic it does infact say mymag. its gonna more than likely be a one off thing so that makes sense. we will find more details soon though.
C'mon people we should be a little more supportive with Olivia's new endeavor =).
This is really exciting news !
She art directed the entire shoot. Plus on her mind were her fans =).
I'm looking forward to when I can get the Hey Olivia magazine =).
@DoubleSixx It is pretty amazing that Olivia was given the opportunity to be featured in her own magazine. I get excited for her with every new project announced and its really cool that the general public is starting to take notice how talented she is (we OMFG'ers already knew that though) i'm glad it will be released soon because I can't wait to check out. I'm more excited to hear what other projects she has in store in the future. (Even though I would really like her to take some more time off between projects)
@awalker
I hear you, hope Olivia does too =). Olivia please get some rest every now and then, you'll be able to do more =).
Soon Olivia will be all over the place.
Congrats Olivia =).
does any body have a release date on when it is coming out cause i cant wait to read it
@doublesixx I don't think its being unsupportive to show our concern. We love Olivia and that's why we care. I'm sure she will be great in whatever endeavors she pursues.
Personally I can't wait for the Cooking with FuRyUs segment in the magazine. Each week FuRyUs will teach us a new way to "prepare" hippies.
@herb
don't forget Minja's guide to noob suicide and Dave-O's monthly column titled, of course, it's a trap!
When she mentioned the magazine idea some time back, I thought it would be better if made this site her magazine. Bring in guest writters, video interviews, etc.. Maybe a small monthly fee. But now I'm thinking this would be good to get the word out to the non G4 audience and test the waters if a digital magazine would be viable. This might work even as a short term venture.
@daniel Do you think Minja can take enough time away from his hotline to "help" even more people? What am I saying, there's always room for jello.....and assisted suicide.
Personally, I'm hoping to get a chance to publish my 'Assassination 101' articles, as well as the 'Good nut guide'...
@Ninja Wait a Good nut guide? Will that make this one of the magazines they keep behind the counter?
Have to agree that a one-time try out of Olivia's magazine would be the best bet for its distribution. It gives publishers the chance to see how the magazine does.
I support Olivia and I am into anything she does, but a magazine series only about Olivia may be too a little too risky.
Also, I like, many of you, am concerned about Olivia's lack of rest. Hope she gives herself a break now and then.
@gerrad - Wallnuts, conkers, chestnuts, etc... What were you thinking?
Imagine an Olivia Centerfold?
I think this would work well as a annual or bi-annual magazine, so it would give Olivia time to assemble a wealth of items she'd like to talk about...stuff she has seen in person (like that woman she heard talking about having her butthole torn or something
), videos/blogs/stories from around the net, fashion, food, etc. It could be a great magazine for mish-mashing all kinds of fun and interesting topics together.
I hope this comes in PDF form.
A few more thoughts...if it's a monthly magazine she can call it a "Munnthly Issue"
And, for a name, I suggest Pie Times
