Let me think about that for a sec...
They should bring back the Boston Bulldogs. He'd be the perfect quarterback!
Look, the guy fucked up. Royally. But he served his time and if a team wants to take a chance, he should be allowed to play. Personally i think that a 5 game suspension is a bit hard after the dude did 2 years in jail. 3 games would have been suffcient.
Personally, I believe there are 3 to 5 teams out there that can use this guy to run some Wildcat offensive plays, teams like Dallas and Oakland alway slook for these kinds of guys. Even the Patriots have the locker room to employ this guy. Hell I think the Bronco's or the Bears should snap him up to buffer a flagging run game.
That being said, you gotta be ready to take the PR hit that comes with it. I mean what he did was wrong and dispicable, but the league has guys with just as shady pasts already.
he spent two years in jail, and took the media double foot stomp as well. if drug dealer, rapists and vehicular murderers can get a second chance, i think michael vick should..
@real Yeah I mean just wait for the media shit storm that is gonna hit that team when they sign him. PETA alone will raise enough of a stink to make it really suck.
I'm torn in half on this. Part of me says that he deserves. He did his time and is now getting a second chance. I think that he should have to give a certain percentage of his salary to some kind of animal organization like PETA or FSPCA.
Another part of me says he doesn't. If this happened to a normal person they would never be given the second chance ever.
For me this whole thing brings up one particular question. Where do you draw the line for animal cruelty? There is not much of a difference between dog fighting and hunting and killing animals. I can understand hunting for food, but how is hunting just to kill stuff any better than two dogs fighting each other? I understand the severity and cruelty of making dogs fight to the death, and I'm not one of those big anti-hunting, fair treatment of animals people. I just think it's a good point to bring up during all of this.
I think part of his parole actually states he has to do volunteer work for animal shelters or the like....
@crazyrob You are right about a regular person not getting a second chance. One thing I have noticed about celebrities, if you can make your apology genuine and real, you can work your way back from disgrace. Vick has an uphill climb and he really needs to have the right people and right organization around him to have any chance at being successful.
Too much soap opera, although on the one hand it would be interesting to see how he does again on the other hand I want him to die in a fire.
you should throw a shuriken at him minja, and jump on it while its in mid flight and then punch him in the face when it hits.
NFL? Boring!
jk
i could care less about this guy.. haha.
@cody it's still an option...I won't rule it out yet
let the kids play ref, let 'em play!
I think he should be allowed to play but what made Vick so special was his athletisism not his ability to read defenses. Two years is an eternity in football years so it will be interesting to see what kind of shape he is in.

Prison shape.
Yeah, I share that view too.. He paid his debt to society. Yes he is an asshole, Yes I hate him. But, You can't deny the mans right to make a living now.
@tyler ...bad news bears in breaking training?
he'll get picked up as a 4th or 3rd, reinstated by game 7 but will never see the field unless there are major injuries. i'm sure he can still play. if he starts for any team it won't be until next season. so news about him coming back won't mean much until then.
in other news...four days until the chicago bears start training camp in bourbonnais!! (((yaaaay)))
I think he should be allowed to play, but if he messes up he should held by his legs and slammed over and over into the ground or drowned in a 5 gallon bucket. Hopefully he'll get drunk and wreck, fly out the windshield and then get, ironically, impaled on a hydrant....
The God with Horns! Worship him, bitches!!!lol
Personal belief speaking? He should have to inhale freshly broken dog crap for 10 minutes every morning. Without bias? He served his time, and there's no true reason to prevent him from playing now. Then maybe add what furyus said as a failsafe.
veddy interesting to go back and re-read these comments a few months later. Seems like most of the Vick controversy has about died down now.
Crime and punishment is too freaking arbitrary. You've got Plaxico Burress serving 2 years for accidentally shooting himself, yet Donté Stallworth got 30 days, 30 DAYS, for killing a pedestrian he ran over whilst drunk driving.
The Vick thing was such a big deal because he was probably one of the 2 or 3 most famous players in the NFL when it all happened. I think if he'd just been some offensive lineman we wouldn't have even heard much of anything about it. Gotta let him move on or there isn't much sense ever letting anyone out of jail. Actually, I could probably get behind a "1 strike you're out" policy, but that would be an entirely different thread.
