Yeah, I'm gonna see it, being the Freddy Kreuger fan that I am. I just hope the film has a more darker/horrific tone to it, then the comedic last few Freddy films.

Nightmare on Elm Street is my favorite horror film! The original will always be my favorite but im excited to see this one as well

This is a case where I think a reboot could work. The Elm Street franchise was basically dead, and Freddy is such a cool character. Just the concept alone sets it apart from almost all the other horror films out there. Now will the film be any good or not is the big question....
As for "Blart 2: Paul Blartier", unfortunately we've run into some issues. Dan has stolen half of my cast for his Cannonball Run remake; Munn is now unavailable because she has a sitcom pilot to shoot; and ninjasquirrel is insisting on far too much Nutella to help me complete writing the script. I spent the last month working on a new draft with Ghostum, only to discover he has written the entire thing with his hand one space over on the keyboard, so everything has come out looking like this:

Needless to say, the producers of the first Blart movie prefer his script.

The Nightmare series is probably my favorite horror franchise. I'm definitely interested in it.
I hope that they make Freddy more vicious and less Jokey.
The 1st couple movies were awesome, then it turned into a Night at the Improv.
I love the occasional one liner from Freddy, but it just got corny.

@ Brisco thats what i get for allowing u to go on strike all those months ago. now look at this mess. maybe we need to just recast this thing like Spider Man. The fan backlash can be as bad. if it is, we could always thow them a bone with basing the movie around Blart's insane love affair with the Cinnebon Girl. - The sex scene in the back on all the rolls of cinnebons has to make it a must see anyway, right?

@Peaches - How do you feel about doing nude scenes? They'd be tasteful of course, and completely important to the plot. I'm sure you take 7 or 8 showers a day anyway, and I just think its important that we capture that on film.

@daniel - I'm afraid the test audiences didn't find your performance believable. To quote, "I just didn't think he was Blarty enough." Also the word "pasty" made several appearances in reference to your shower scene audition.
Plus herb is now paying me to be in the film. Only problem is 7 or 8 shower scenes may not be enough for him. Just try keeping clothes on that guy... sheesh.

thanks to encouragement from Herb and Gerrad, I have now re-written the entire script. Did anyone see the film "Phone Booth"? That's basically the inspiration here, as almost the entire movie of Blart 2 will now take place inside a shower.
I hope you don't prune too badly Herb, because with Scarfo as your stunt double I think there might be some continuity issues that no amount of editing will cover.

The NOES series was decent as a kid not sure that I would want to see a remake of it now but if done right it could be interesting. What I would REALLY love to see is more Hellraiser movies they could just go nuts with those and pinhead is by far the coolest villian in those popcorn series type horror movies.
mental note: minja is willing to hold the popcorn during any hellraiser film.
