What if you have nothing to be confident about? How do you fake confidence? I always hear that the thing women are most attracted to is confidence (followed by nice shoes, which I *totally* don't get.) But, I have no skills or talents to give myself confidence. I have no physical attributes to give myself confidence. I mean, I like who am I and what I believe in and wouldn't change the things I'm into and what I like for anything... But I still don't have any confidence- and it's totally out of my control in most cases. So, how do you have confidence when you have nothing to be confident about?

In about two weeks, my lovely girlfriend (and wifey to be ) will be visiting me for 10 days. I am extremely excited and it's really hard to bottle my joy and happiness (especially in public). I moved out to Maryland not that long ago after excepting a job out of college. When I first moved here, I didn't know anyone and went to Starbucks quite often to hang out and read. There was a girl that use to work there, and I really liked her. I talked to her on occasion, but was too nervous to ask her out while she was at work. However, in one of our conversations, I learned that she was only working part time at Starbucks while working full time at a company(L3) that is just across the street from my company(SAIC). She recently quit Starbucks to focus on her full time career, so I no longer see her around, which is sad since I never got to ask her out. I got this idea about a week ago, and it goes something like this: I really want to walk into the building that she works at, dressed nicely (not too fancy though), and ask her out. Is this at all a good idea? Does anyone have any pointers? Or should I just forget about it and move on?

I'm 22 and in the midst of a lifetime of singularity. I have been friends with a girl for the better part of the last two years and we have gone through periods of being really close and being friends of timing and convenience, if that makes sense. Recently, the former has been the case. I have liked her since the early stages of our friendship, but timing issues put a damper on any possibility of putting it out there with any real chance at success. Now she has a BF and I wish she didn't, but timing is still a looming issue. But the friendship is one of the best things I have going for me, which makes me hate feeling the way I do. I don't know if this is anything uncommon, but it is a pretty big pain in the butt for me right now. Should I follow a "move on" mentality or "all good things come to those who wait"?

Ok. I'm in a very awkward situation. I've known this person for 6 years now. About two months ago, we decided to try dating. We didn't plan on anything serious, especially since she has a boyfriend. She was just in a situation where she wanted to explore her options. And I needed someone in my life. Well, in that time we got very close. We definitely love one another now. And it IS love. We've both expressed that on many occasions. But because of bad timing and circumstances, we decided it was best to just be friends for now. There's just too much going on in both our lives for it to work right now. But, here's the thing. I can't get over her. And it's not like it's just me. I know she loves me too and 90% of all of this is just the bad timing. I just don't know what to do with my feelings for her. I made a promise to myself and her that I'd always be there as a friend and I intend on keeping that promise. I can't lose her altogether. I love spending time talking to her but it also kills me not being able to date her. I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. [Begin scenario] A late 30's male, who is single, is interested in fit, younger women, preferably 5-10 years younger than him (or more). At this point she discovers he requires a Bi-Pap machine to sleep with due to sleep apnea, which requires a gas mask face component hooked to the machine via hose, and eliminates any potential cuddling/spooning/kisses on the back/spontaneous sexual activity in bed and requires he always stay at his place since the rig is not portable. [End scenario] Ignoring all other factors, on a scale of 1-10, 1 being "Unless he was already married, no woman is ever going to start a relationship with someone like that, he's going to be alone forever, become a Monk" to 10 being "Oh, women don't like to be held or otherwise cuddle in bed, and love sleeping next to men in gas masks because of their universal Darth Vader crush", what numerical value would you assign the above situation?
