DJ AM dies
So sad. DJ AM was found dead this morning in an apartment on Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
Sources said drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment.
I worked with him on Iron Man 2 recently. He was really quiet and sweet, but told me how I excited he was to be working on the movie.
He last tweeted on Tuesday a line from a Grandmaster Flash song: “New york, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain’t always what it seems.”

Around 17 this guy we used to hang with…at the mall in paramus NJ…..he used to sniff in BUTANE (gas) … yes we all told him to stop but he kept doing it,,, well after a week or so one night we were walking to the mall… me and a bunch of friends … he calapsed in the parking lot
i caught him in time before he hit his head on the ground.
one of the people we knew drove up.a few mins later
we put him in the car and and they took him to hackensack. hospital… he died (and was in the paper) the record
so dont do drugs or sniff anything

Dude was in a plane crash that almost offed him under a year ago and was likely on some pretty serious pain meds to get over it considering he was admitted after that crash in a critical condition. Seems these meds are given out like candy and are very addictive, a few Doctors seem to be getting in trouble over this lately (Wrestler Chris Benoits, Michael Jackson’s and Anna Nicole Smith’s), and then it gets glamorised in shows like House (pill popping Dr functions best that way).
I am not judging anyone on there choices in life.
I have never had serious pain and been reliant on Prescription Drugs, I have never been addicted to anything whether that be Alcohol or Narcotics (or Cigarettes which I have seen friends almost want to kill for another when trying to give up) and do not know how hard it is to stop or how it drives you to despair to pop more and more and more.
RIP DJ AM … unfortunately likely another gone to Prescription Drugs (which the cause of death will be only known after an Autopsy … so I’m not jumping to a conclusion just because a Crack Pipe was there … after all no mention of it actually being used and signs he had just smoked it up).

Wow, so much negativity and just plain questionable responses. Though I didn’t know him personally the ending of a life is significant and can greatly affect the living. I hope those closest to him can find peace after such a loss.

I am still in shock over this. He was so young, and full of life. Not to mention, that his twitter account made it sound like he had a lot to look forward to. Very Sad. RIP DJ AM. My condolences to his family for their loss.

Man, I don’t know. This guy had won the life-lottery. He was a “Celebrity DJ,” just one step above “Reality TV Star” on the talent and contribution ladder. Yet he managed to get rich and famous, hobnob with famous people, bang loads of incredibly hot women, and escape a plan crash. And he throws it all away by drugging himself to death by OD’ing on crack?
Hard to feel sorry for him when so many people are trying to deal with so much hardship these days and this guy throws away a golden, charmed life.

Heath Ledger was on prescription drugs by CHOICE, because when you’re a celebrity, or just have lots of money, you will always find doctors who are willing to fill prescriptions with no questions asked. He wasn’t stupid, he knew he was on combination prescriptions. Drug abuse = drug abuse, whether the drugs are legal or illegal. He did it to himself.

So not exactly drug paraphernalia and perhaps it was for the way he was hurting after the Plane Crash in September last year, after all Goldstein (DJ AM) suffered serious burns and was hospitalised in critical condition, little under a year ago.
