Are obsessed fans scary?
Some of the best MMA masters in the world are those who know almost nothing about their opponents other than the art itself but are able to quickly adapt to any situation. Instead of relying on studying your foe, this is a major weakness that too many modern day MMA pro’s have. & all to often, too many MMA matches end in grapples, which is deadly & useful but it shows a lack of a good defense & offense. & often leads to a boring show of skill. I often feel like I’m watching a “Skinny” Sumo match.
I’m sure Kimbo could sure use a “Slice” of pie right ’bout now…

Li Xiaolong often fought “real” fights with people in the street that he knew nothing about so I don’t take that as an excuse. Again, regardless of Kimbo’s level or Petruzelli’s, he overstepped his circle. Peroid

Yeah, I saw it. But to Kimbo’s credit, the fight was sprung on him last minute after Ken Shamrock’s eye injury. He trained for weeks and studied one fighter’s style, only to fight a new one that he knew very little about. However, it was the first “real” fighter that he actually fought. So, it doesn’t suprise me that much. And to Petruzelli’s credit, he’s a full contact Kumite champion. Kumite, the karate competition…not to be confused with that kickass tournament from the movie, Bloodsport.
I have to agree with what many other people said about Kimbo in this particular fight. Regardless of his prowess in other fights or the level of it. If you look at the clip from comment #18 you’ll see that he overstepped his own boundary as a fighter. Anyone who knows anything about MMA knows that this is a no no. Take for example one of our legends, Li Xiaolong AKA Bruce Lee who relied heavily on offense as the best defense. Even he was often careful to not make such a foolishly simple mistake. In the streets of Asia, such an act could one day cost your life.

Personally, I think Kimbo’s a hack. Though, I really think he threw the fight to bring some attention to the EliteXC. Their ratings aren’t doing all that well.

Yeah man, he wasn’t KO’d but he was done. Each hit he took after the initial one was dazing him bad, He couldn’t intelligently defend himself, he would have been KO’d if they would have let it go 5 more seconds. That shit was wild, I’m suprised Olivia watches MMA!!

You guys who say that Kimbo slipped are fanboys in denial. He clearly got hit on the jaw immediately before he fell. It wasn’t a great punch, but while a fighter is tight at the beginning of a fight it doesn’t have to be. Quit making excuses. He just lost - deal with it.
Yup. It was a short ass fight. The women fight was better. Gina Carano kicked ass! Sorry Kimbeezy…i guess he didn’t know karate..but he knows craazzzyy!!!
I’m not going to give any respect to Kimbo Slice. He talked shit when he was a street fighter of how he could fuck up anybody and now that he is facing old vets and decent fighters he is saying “oh i got respect for these guys” what a bunch of bullshit no more than a year ago he was saying he could fuck mike tyson up, give me a break theres a reason MMA fighters don’t cross over to boxing and thats because any professional boxer would fuck any MMA fighter up in a boxing match, period. anyone that disagrees with that is a jackass and doesn’t deserve to watch MMA or Boxing.

i knew slice was a fake, when i watched his pre ufc days fights he fought against kids and losers!
i knew he couldnt hang with real fighters!
but before we write him off i say rematch with seth, no ring no refs….
Kimbo looked like he just fell with that big punch that missed. Then seth just unloaded on his face when he was on the ground.

Seth Petruzelli is not a unknown. He is a MMA veteran and a K-1 striker. I can see how most of you people were shocked. But if you knew anything about this sport, you would of known Kimbo was going to receive his first loss.
I think it was a sucker win it was only 14 sec and that dude got lucky. Kimbo tripped and he started walin on the back of his head, thas pretty cheap if u ask me. Petruzelli looked shook at the beginnin too

To the idiot that said Kimbo Slice is an amazing fighter…First he’s not an MMA fighter, hes just a striker. Second if he was a legit pro MMA fighter he would be in the UFC where the best fight not in the piece of trash EliteXC which is a joke and will eventually shut down. Kimbo Slice will get his ass beat down by Ken Shamrock because Ken might be in his 40’s but he knows if he takes Kimbo down its over. So all you rookie fight watchers KIMBO SLICE SUCKS. You can’t say Kimbo has no MMA skills. He’s being trained by Bas Rutten but EliteXC was protecting him. He fought Bo Cantrell, Tank Abott, and was nearly killed by James Thompson. Seth Petruzelli has UFC experience and is a solid fighter.
Slice isn’t even a top 20 heavyweight so I wasn’t surprised at all when he lost. But Slice is a humble, professional mixed martial artist who left street fighting behind. He’s a victim of the CBS hype machine.
Kimbo is a tough guy, I’m not gonna try to downplay that at all. Hopefully he’s learned that Street Fighting is not MMA.

The funny part is if you watch the vid…he doesn’t even really get a hit in to take him down…he gets a weak knee in there and then Kimbo just kind of falls down and Seth goes to town!! COngrats to that kid simply amazing. Yes even some of the greats do fall…aka The Iceman–The Natural!!

I was had my fingers crossed that ken shamrock would have fought him and beat him, but I was weary that knew would have gotten caught and knocked out. I like most all other mma fans just don’t like kimbo. Gina Carano on the other hand, mmmm hawt! =0 When are you going to start fighting hehe?
KIMBO is all HYPE. Even if Ken Shamrock got cleared to fight, I wouldn’t want to watch this fight.

People who bought into the Kimbo hype crack me up. That Anthony guy’s posts read like he was crying while typing his ‘don’t hate on Kimbo’ rants. I’ve seen his street fighting videos and nobody he fought looked like they had any fighting skills - and I’m including the goon who beat him down in that parking garage. He could have easily made it on The Ultimate Fighter if he really had any skills.
