Not sayin I could kick the man’s ass (yet), but Kimbo’s a “trained” fighter, now. I think it’s taken a lot out of him, as it does all “raw talent” brawlers.
It’s like we used to say in the military: “Professionals are predictable, it’s the amateurs you gotta be worried about”.
Then again, raw talent or not, no one’s invincible.

First of all i think kimbo could have gotten back up and fought the ref stop that match to quick.
Come on look how happy that kid looked when he won jumpin up all over the place. He knew it was a slim chance for him to win and when he won he got that excited. KIMBO JUST LOST HIS FOOTING THATS ALL. IF they did that over again there is no way kimbo woul have lost. This reminds me of when brock lesnar lost to this brazilian because he got lucky and got lesnar in a leg hold. lESNAR was owning that match the whole time.

I was watching the fight and right before it began I flipped it to the baseball game to see who was winning. I put it back and the goddamn fight was over. I couldn’t believe it.14 seconds.

ye i saw, but petruzelli aint just some no good bum, he was the U.S. karate champ and has had experience since he was six years old, it was cool but the hit to the back of the head seemed unfair

this all seemed to much like real boxing, one guy drops out of an overrated fight and a no name wins. i bet alot of money was made off this and now they can make more off it with the match that was scheduled taking place at a later time.

I was at the event and I agree Kimbo is junk, hes not an MMA fighter nothing but a nobody. He has no real MMA skill. Congrats to Seth Petruzelli and his camp Mike Lee and all the local Tampa/Orlando guys.
Kimbo is a joke and the fact that Elite XC was so biased just shows how terrible that was. Kimbo sucks and he’ll go fight a few more times and be done. Good event, Cyborg killed Yoko and Benji destroyed Ninja, Gina was beautiful and dominating on the feet. Great show over all. As a true MMA fan it was a great moment to see that over hyped chump go down.

Kimbo slice is over rated, any well trained fighter like Petruzelli could expose his weakness.
Funny thing his stand up is his strong point and he got taken down in it.

Kimbo seems more like a standup fighter than a ground one. If it’s boxing, sure, he’s okay. Start throwing in kicks, and he seems to have a problem. Like someone said before, he shouldn’t be a main attraction, perhaps an undercard.

Kimbo is not over-rated because anyone who really watches MMA, or has followed it for a long time - or has taken/is taking any combat sport knew that he wasn’t that good to begin with. He has 0 ground game - and for people to say “Whoever says he’s over-rated - pick a fight with him” C’mon that’s like a 6th-grade answer. Come up with something better please. However, I must say that he does NOT deserve the bashing for all the attention he is getting. If someone offered me to do a commercial with LT -F– yeah I would - Hey we’re going to give you your own line of TAPOUT clothing - F—yeah, where do I sign? Kimbo has every opportunity to get better, and he should because Bas Rutten is a great trainer. This could be the best thing to happen to him - if used properly. Maybe now he’ll take his training even more seriously. No one is saying that he isn’t a great guy, or hasn’t been through alot - problem is once you step into a cage/ring/wrestling mat (no not WWE for all the trolls waiting for that one) No one cares.
I think it is too much to expect from a bar bouncer to actually compete with trained MMA specialists. Even with the training that he has probably received in preparation, there really is not comparison. Even with his opponent weighing in at 30 pounds lighter, I’m not surprised at all…
You guys should get Seth on Attack of the Show. He’ll be on my radio show tomorrow night…he should have some interesting stuff to talk about!

I can tell based on some comments on this post that we have very few MMA experts here. & for some of you, you must not be that good because your experts at making excuses. Where does MA come from people? Do you think Asians give a Sh** about an excuse? I’m not talking about Kimbo.

I hope now they stop putting Kimbo in such a stoplight. He certainly shouldn’t stop fighting. But he should stop being in main events. And he should get out of EliteXC because they put way to much attention and pressure on him. Kimbo is a cool guy and he will not make any excuses for the loss.
Unlike Jared Shaw (EliteXC promoter), who claims Kimbo was hit in the back of the head. He is an embarrassment to MMA how he yelled at the ref after the match was stopped

All I’ll say is “Sorry Olivia for posting so much” Any MMA pro who makes an excuse for him/herself is prone to repeat the same mistake over & over again until they face the truth & learn from their mistakes. It is still possible for anyone who may be underhanded to come out on top, its all about how & when they do it.

i’ve met the dude and he’s actually pretty nice and quite articulate when he speaks. it’s true, he’s not trained enough to be a true MMA fighter. in this case, skill and experience beats size and power every time.
the fight with him and sean gannon is epic. he just wouldn’t stay down. his big mistake then was not keeping his hands up. this time was underestimating his opponent.
either way, i restate: there is not one of you that put kimbo slice down that can even come close to keeping unshattered eye sockets if you fought him.
