So sad. DJ AM was found dead this morning in an apartment on Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
Sources said drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment.
I worked with him on Iron Man 2 recently. He was really quiet and sweet, but told me how I excited he was to be working on the movie.
He last tweeted on Tuesday a line from a Grandmaster Flash song: “New york, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain’t always what it seems.”
I dropped it less than 2 feet onto the hard studio floor just before the show yesterday. Now it is dead. It is currently with G4 I.T. trying to recover my content… Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
The priest just arrived to hold my hand through this difficult time of uncertainty. I must go and pray now.
The economy sucks and yesterday 70-thousand people felt it big time when layoffs were announced. Here are just a few numbers:
- 207,120 jobs have been lost so far this year- and it’s not even February!
- Nearly 2.6 million people were rendered unemployed through 2008, the highest yearly job-loss total since 1945.
- Construction machinery manufacturer Caterpillar cut 20-thousand jobs
- Pfizer cut 26-thousand jobs
- Sprint/Nextel cut 8-thousand jobs
- Home Depot cut 7-thousand jobs….
and the list goes on.

And my prayers go out to the family of a Kaiser employee in Wilmington, CA who went into his home early Tuesday morning and killed his wife and five children, then turned the gun on himself… Allegedly he was distraught after being laid off.
CLICK HERE to read the story about a little boy who said he shot his father and his father’s friend to death with a .22-caliber weapon… Even though he confessed to the murder, reports are saying there might have been improper interviewing techniques by the cops and there is no physical evidence.
As of now, they don’t have a reason why he did it, but police do want to charge him as an ADULT- he’s just 8 years old! But if he did in fact do it, I know that means he committed a VERY grown-up act of violence, but an 8 year-old is not thinking like an adult… at all.
Right now, the little boy is sitting in a detention center because neither his mother or stepmother wants to take him home.
