Batwoman is a lesbian!
The big news from DC Comis at the New York Comic-Con is that Batwoman likes the ladies! Yep- they outed her as a lesbian.
They also announced that Batman will take a backseat for at least 12 issues and let Batwoman take the reigns in Detective Comics.
Batwoman will be the ”most high profile title starring a gay superhero,” for DC.

There’s nothing inherently interesting about a gay super-heroine. Is she gonna make her preference known to every villian that she fights and hope that one of them turns out to be a bigot?

So old news. This is at least a year old. She’s been a lesbian since the first issue she re-appeared in over a year ago. Can’t miss a lesbian superhero or keep it a secret when the first issue her having a fight with her girlfriend.
I could’ve sworn she’s been a lesbian since the first time she appeared.

@Michelle: Forgot to mention. Wonder Woman has been Bi for quite some time. They just hook her up with guys so they don’t have to deal with a back lash. They can get away with her saying she’s interested in women until she actually hooks up with one.
Callie yeah I believe Kate is out. Now DC is talking about outing Batwoman. Which might be a fun story if done right.

I’m so confused. Kate Kane has been a lesbian for a while. She had a thing with Montoya (aka The Question) but Kate was in the closet about her sexuality and only close (and I do mean close **WInk**) knew. She’s one of those High Society types so no one could know that she loved the ladies. Yeah, I’m a geek. I know. Anywho, is Kate finally coming out to Gotham’s elite or are we not talking Kate Kane at all?
Oh and I would not consider Kate Kane a butch. She is definitely a lipstick les… at least until she puts on the suit.

It will be nice to see Greg Rucka finally get to tell his Batmanwoman storyline. It’s a smart move on DC’s part. It would not have sold well as a maxi series but put it in a known title and it will get twice the readers it will normally have got.
@Guyvader actually everyone knows that Batwomen is a lesbian and had known this for quit some time. She is just finally getting some spot light while Batman hides in the shadows. Oh and every business is in the dumps. duh.

@Michelle, personally I don’t care one way or the other. I’ve had friends that were both lipsticks and butch and they were all fun to party with. Ah, those were the days (reminiscing…..). Just a pointer for those guys out there, gay gals have a lot, I mean a lot of bi friends. At least the ones that I knew did. Anyhow, as long as Gotham is safe, what is the difference? Bad guys get beat up by a girl for a while.

i have heard about Batwomen when i attened Comic-con out here in NY yet i was pretty surprised though cause she will be the only lesbian Superhero maybe Catwomen or Wonder Women should be Next..lol
